Allo,allo...

Long story short, I lost the desire to draw/paint for the last two years, and I appologize. I'm in the last couple months of my Grade 12 year and I've been thinking a lot. The quick update is that I got accepted to a university in the states and got a few scholarships as well. I guess I'm not a failure at life

I realized that since.. I'm leaving everything behind me, my home, my childhood, my friends... my past, I want to take back the parts of me to my new home. Art is important to me, I know that now. It allows me to be thoughtful and creative. There is no discrimination, when I draw I don't have to pretend to be anyone else to feel accepted. I don't hate what I draw anymore. I've come to learn accept them as imperfect or perfect, kind of like life and being able to accept yourself on the same lines. Seize the moment, pursue your goals, and most importantly, do whatever you want that makes you happy. Don't let people take those away from you.

I love the fact that art is all around you. I feel like that art has a strong hold on me now. I have a few new sketches that I eventually upload. The most recent one is a human face. My elder brother always said to me, "If you draw people, you can draw anything." I feel like I have gained that step, that skill. That deeper understanding you discover about yourself when you put your pencil against a scrap piece of paper. Haha, and its a bonus when I need some down time when I have exams.
